XRDOCS

XRDOCS is the first international festival dedicated exclusively to immersive documentaries, organized by IDEAL, the Centre for Digital Arts in Barcelona. This festival focuses on showcasing innovative documentary projects that utilize immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and 360-degree video to tell stories in a more engaging and empathetic way. The festival aims to explore how these cutting-edge tools can offer new narrative possibilities, allowing audiences to experience stories from a first-person perspective and fostering deeper emotional connections to social, political, and humanitarian themes

Through XRDOCS, IDEAL seeks to highlight the potential of immersive media to transform the way documentaries are experienced, providing a platform for creators who are pushing the boundaries of traditional storytelling.
